Presentation of "Travelsex", the touring summer campaign of information on sexual health promoted by SIGO (Italian Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics). The initiative, developed within the educational project "Scegli tu" ("Choose yourself"), is hosted in 10 bookshops around Italy from 14th June to 21st August. Boys and girls can play and win the "Passport of safe sex", a tool to certify the knowledge on sexuality, and buy the guide "Travelsex", edited by Giunti (5.90 Euros), available from 8th June, that contains advice and in-depth information to avoid troubles, all signed by SIGO. The Ministry of Youth granted its patronage to the summer campaign

Presentation of "Oltre il traguardo" ("Beyond the arrival") at Radio Deejay head office. The new TV program, broadcasted by Deejay TV from 1st June, develops through four episodes to tell the feminine universe by the testimony of four big ladies champions, such as Margherita Granbassi, Eleonora Abbagnato, Josefa Idem and Flavia Pennetta. "Oltre il traguardo" is the first program made under the patronage of the Italian Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (SIGO), to certify the contents on sexuality

SIGO (Italian Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics) National Meeting on "Adolescents, sexuality and media". Scientists and protagonists of the communication system, together with gynecologists, gathered to create a full synergy and to respond to urgent information needs. The degree of knowledge on contraceptive methods today available in Italy is the lowest in Europe, at the same level as Turkey

Presentation of "Ho vinto io", a collection of testimonies from patients who won against breast cancer. Presention of "Scegli tu...di vincere" ("Choose yourself...to win"), an innovative project which involves fifteen Italian athletes as protagonists. It is an initiative to spread pivotal messages to safeguard women welfare. A guide has been realised to distribute it within Italian gynecological practices and sport centres. A blog has also been open (www.sceglitudivincere.it), where any girl can become protagonist

Presentation of "Un gol per la vita" (www.ungolperlavita.it) at Palazzo Chigi. This is the first educational game to teach cancer prevention both in schools and stadiums. It involves some football champions, and the winner will have the possibility to partecipate to 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. The project is under the patronage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the FIGC (Italian Football Federation), the FMSI (Italian Federation of Sport Medicine), and Inter (Football Club)

Presentation of "Metti il cancro in fuorigioco!" (Put cancer out of play!), the first project on cancer sensitisation thought and promoted by the "Fondazione Giacinto Facchetti per lo studio e la cura dei tumori O.N.L.U.S." with the patronage of Inter (football club) and the borough of Milan. "Metti il cancro in fuorigioco!" is a cartoon guide to disclaim wrong common lifestyles. It is distributed to secondary schools and Inter clubs, where awareness meetings will also be organised

Presentation of the first kit for sex education in secondary schools, proposed by the Italian Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (SIGO). Italy comes in the last places in Europe in matter of contraception and young people ask for more information. To this need responds this multimedia kit, composed of a magazine especially made for the youth, a poster, a teacher's guide, slides and a short film animation dedicated to the contraceptive pill and realised by Studio Bozzetto

It is composed of a list of short 'life saving' sentences translated into 12 European languages and basic useful information to have safe sex during your own holidays. This is a unique initiative of confrontation and in-deep examination to sensitise clinicians and health professionals on the benefits of an early treatment, the new real opportunity to control the disease. The project develops through an innovative course of action, the talk show, to facilitate confrontation among specialists and other health professionals involved in the management and care of patients with multiple sclerosis

Opening of the project "Virtual oncology hospital". The Policlinico of Modena is the first Italian hospital to open a "department" in Second Life. This is the exact copy of the integrated Department of Oncology and Haematology of the Policlinico, which has been finely reproduced in the virtual world within Prometeo, an all "made in Italy" island, close to Cinecittà and the city of Milan
